Solar Site Assessment: Start to Finish
A residential solar site assessment takes 5 hours to accomplish; This includes 2 visits to your home. The first visit is information gathering and generally takes an hour. We then take this information back to our office and design a system just to fit your house. To fit your desire. You have to understand, every solar heating system has to be custom built. We can then arrive at the amount of investment, determine the incentives available to help you pay for this device, figure your savings, and calculate a rate of return.
The Detailed Steps to a Solar Site Assessment
1st Visit
1. Testing your site with the solar pathfinder.
2. Analyze best placement for solar collectors.
3. Placement of the solar storage tank.
4. Choose and measure the best routes for piping or ducting.
5. Collect annual energy use billing information.
6. Ask questions regarding your hot water usage.
7. Pictures are taken of every aspect of the site.
8. First visit generally takes an hour including an PowerPoint presentation.
We then take this information and custom design a system to meet your requirements and present this information in a protective, hardcover proposal.
