Solar Domestic Water Heating
Every business, large or small, uses hot water on a daily basis.  Hotels, hospitals and long term care health facilities use large amounts of water to care for their residents.  And many businesses use hot water for more than just dishwashing, showers, laundry, etc.  Breweries heat water when making beer.  Food manufacturers and dairy farmers use lots of hot water for cleaning and sanitization.  GreenSky has helped all of these businesses with a solar domestic water heater (SDWH).  Utilizing an antifreeze solution pumped through the solar loop - connecting the solar thermal collectors to an insulated water storage tank - heat is transferred through a heat exchanger to the water in the solar storage tank.   The cold water, that normally enters your water heater when you pull hot water, is diverted to the solar storage tank to be heated by the sun. Now, when you draw water from your water heater - instead of cold water entering your water heater - solar heated water is drawn from the solar storage tank, and your water heater will not have to put fire to the water. Solar PV
A solar PV system uses energy from sunlight to generate electricity.  Solar panels generate DC electricity (similar to that from a battery).  An inverter converts the DC electricity to the AC electricity used in your home.  By combining multiple panels together, a solar PV system can be designed to provide a significant amount of your electricity used on an annualized basis.  And similar to residential applications, any excess electricity generated by our PV system flows backwards through the meter and you get credit from the utility!  Learn more on how it works.

Solar-based Space Heating
Space heating is a considerable expense for most businesses in Wisconsin.  Similar in design to a solar domestic water heater, heat collected by solar collectors is stored in a solar storage tank filled with water.  This heat in then used to supplement the heat from your conventional heating system.  Heat from the solar storage tank is used to preheat the fluid flowing into the boiler, reducing the need to purchase fossil fuel energy. Solar systems match up perfectly with radiant heating systems.  And solar energy can also be used to reduce your boiler needs for re-heating within your HVAC system in the summer months.

Solar Air Heating
A solar air heater uses solar energy to directly heat the air in your business.  A fan draws air from the building and into a solar air collector.  The air flows over an absorber plate that is heated by the sun.  The hot air is put back into your building. Swimming Pool Heating
Any business with a swimming pool knows about the high energy costs to keep the pool at a temperature that is comfortable for their guests or employees.  Outdoor seasonal pools at hotels or campgrounds can use unglazed pool collectors made of black polymer.   The pool water is drawn into the solar collectors using the pool's circulating pump.  The heated pool water is sent back to the pool.  The collectors can be mounted on a nearby building or GreenSky can provide a stand-alone structure.  Learn more on how it works.

Solar pool heaters for indoor pools have standard, glazed collectors and a glycol solar fluid like a solar water heater.  The hot solar fluid from the collectors is pumped through a heat exchanger that preheats the pool water before going to the conventional boiler.  These solar pool heaters work even on the cold winter days to keep your pool comfortable. 

System Monitoring
